If you are age 50 years or older or disabled, live in Rich Township, and have an established need for supportive services, the Senior Services Department is available to serve you. There are no requirements to participate.

Information and Referral: We offer information about available township programs as well as referrals to other agencies as needed. 

Transportation: Door-to-door service to seniors as well as younger handicapped adults. Reserve your ride two days in advance, or one hour ahead for shopping. 

Sharing and Caring: Senior volunteers periodically contact Township residents to offer information. Volunteer today!  

In-Home Services: Light housekeeping, shopping and laundry for seniors needing such assistance. Screened In-Home Workers are available after an in-home evaluation establishes a need. 

Extend-A-Meal: Home delivered meals to those who are unable to prepare on their own, based on an in-home assessment, Call Senior center for more information 708-748-5454.

Health Services: Health care assistance in affiliation with the Park Forest Health Department. For more information, contact us or call the Park Forest Health Department at 708.748.1118.

Monthly Trips: Enjoy an outing to area attractions each month. Make sure to call early to secure your spot! Check our Activities Calendar in the News Letter for upcoming trips. 

Enrichment Programs: Expand your horizons with scheduled programs in our Senior Center at 297 Liberty Drive in Park Forest. See our Activities Calendar in the News Letter for details. 

AARP Safety Driving Program: The AARP Safe Driving Class will be held at our Senior Center , The classes will be from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day. You must attend both sessions in order to become certified. The class will help update you on driving rules, and can qualify seniors for a discount on their car insurance. Call for the next session. 

Computer Classes: Normally held at the Leonard Robinson Family Service Center. These free classes are for adults and seniors who want to learn computer basics or brush up on their skills. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the classes are not currently being held. Check back for updates. 

Podiatry: On the first, second, third and fourth Wednesday of each month, Dr. Haythem Mansour is at our center to treat routine medical problems of the foot. Please call us at (708)748-5454 to make your appointment.

The Rich Township Senior Center is in need of volunteers to deliver meals to the homebound. If you would like to devote about 1 hour, once a week, to assist with this very worthwhile program, please call JoJo Martin 708-748-5454. A background check is required for all volunteers.
